Göta Carrier, former cable ferry from the Swedish Road Administration, Ferry 62/251, built in 1962 by Hjälmare Kanal and Slussverk AB. Approx. 30 metres, including ramp, x 7 metres. Just over 45 tonnes cargo capacity. The ramp is 3.75 m at its narrowest point.
The current owner has carried out extensive refurbishments in recent years. In 2019, side shell plating and large sections of the bottom plating were renewed. The work was carried out at Gryt shipyard. In 2022, the vessel was grit blasted and painted. In 2023 to 2024, a new ramp was installed, new engine hydraulics, sealing system for the hydraulic thrusters, as well as a new crane foundation. During the winter of 2024 to 2025, the propulsion system is being commissioned.
Göta Carrier was last painted and dry dock surveyed in Kummelnäs in the summer of 2025, resulting in new certificates and an approved stability booklet.
Göta Carrier is available for inspection on Ljusterö by prior arrangement.
