T B 368 Egil

Price: SEK 4.500.000

The barge Egil was built in 1899 in Gävle, Sweden, by Stockholms Transport- och Bogseringsaktiebolag, one of Sweden's largest towing companies at the time. The company operated barge traffic in the Baltic Sea, Lake Mälaren, Strömsholm's canal and in the port of Stockholm, as well as in Nynäshamn and Södertälje. After its time as a tug barge, Egil was used as a workshop barge for a number of years.

During 2009-2011, the current owner carried out an extensive renovation. The workshop was converted into a gallery, and a new heating system and sewage system installed. In addition, the kitchen was renovated, and new appliances were installed and also the bathrooms were upgraded.

Via the folding gangway you reach the main deck where there is a descent to the gallery, several patios and an entrance to the deck house. On the deck house's main deck, there is a bright dining room with table and wood stove, a modern kitchen, a toilet with shower and an office in the stern. A spiral staircase connects all three floors.

On the upper deck there is a overnight accomodation area with a bed, wood burning stove and a large combined wardrobe and bathroom with shower. Outside the overnight area there is a larger private patio with a fireplace.

The lower deck is used today primarily as an art gallery. With a separate entrance via the main deck, the gallery's guests can come down to the approx. 100 square meter room without having to enter via the saloon on the main deck. The gallery receives natural light via the large glass lanterns in the ceiling. Aft there is a guest toilet, an office and storage area as well as a technology room.

Egil has a riveted concrete sprayed steel hull. The last drydock was on Tenö in 2008. In 2021, a diver inspection and hull cleaning was carried out. There is plenty of space on the starboard side for mooring a smaller leisure boat.

Egil has planning permission for 'fixed mooring of barges for studio and gallery, Liljeholmshamnen'. Egil's mooring place requires the owner to conduct a business on the barge and the lease contract with the Port of Stockholm is written with the owner's limited company that conducts gallery operations.

Egil can be inspected by arrangement with Shipsforsale.
