Eric Nordevall II
The paddle steamer Eric Nordevall II is a replica of the original ship Eric Nordevall, which was built in 1836 and sank in Lake Vättern in 1856.
Eric Nordevall II has a passenger certificate for 35 passengers in area D and 59 passengers in area E. The ship has 8 cabins, of which 1 skipper's cabin and 1 fore peak with 3 beds. Adjacent to the cabins there is also a lounge with a semicircular sofa for about 8 people.
In the engine room there is a Motala balance steam engine (no. 26) with a 5 cubic water boiler.
The original Eric Nordevall was commissioned by Ångfraktbolaget Stockholm-Göteborg, formed in 1833, to operate the Göta Canal. She first went as a post vessel between Ystad and Stralsund on behalf of the Royal Post Office and was after a short time put into service on the Göta Canal between Stockholm and Gothenburg.
